Lawton’s LiteX Grows Market Share

Currently celebrating its seventh year in the marketplace, LiteX from Lawton Tubes is a runaway success. Created in response to the plumbing market’s need for a cheaper copper tube, Litex is now responsible for a considerable percentage of Lawton’s mid-range tube sales. Bearing in mind that it is only seven years since the product was launched, these sales figures clearly demonstrate how closely LiteX met customer demand.

LiteX is thinner than standard copper tube - 1mm instead of 1.2mm. The weight and cost savings, however, have no impact on the performance of the tube. It remains strong and reliable. Providing a cheaper copper tube has allowed plumbers to continue using copper rather than switch to plastic piping. As well as the standard advantages that copper has over plastic; rigidity, durability, 100% recyclable, fire resistance, low expansion and the ability to withstand higher working pressures, LiteX can be used with nearly all copper press and push type fittings. Users are not restricted to one particular manufacturer as they would be with plastic pipes.

Because it’s hard drawn, Litex does not bend, but with most contractors using fittings on anything above 28mm, this has not deterred LiteX fans. Customers are more concerned with the fact that they can make significant savings, and greater profits, when they use LiteX.

Made fully Kite Marked in accordance with BSEN 1057, supported by Lawton’s 30 years warranty in flame-free jointing systems, and available in 35mm,42mm and 54 mm, 3m and 6m lengths, it’s easy to see why LiteX is continuing to grow in popularity amongst plumbing and mechanical service contractors.
