New Lawton’s Brazing Rods Join Air Conditioning MarketSpring 2011 saw the successful launch of Lawton’s DUAL Tube. This Winter sees the launch of even easier ways to join Lawton’s DUAL, making it an even more obvious choice for air conditioning installation. Metallurgically bonding an inner copper layer to an outer aluminium layer is what made DUAL such an innovative product. Making the product lighter and more cost effective meant that it is easier to transport, and reduces installation costs without compromising strength or quality. Whilst its lightweight nature makes it easier to use, it initially relied upon soldering for joining. Field Tests and Customer Feedback showed, however, that the majority of users preferred to braze rather than solder. Lawton’s listened, and a brazing rod that is ideal for use with DUAL is now being brought to market. Produced from 78% zinc and 22% aluminium, Lawton’s new brazing rods have a melting temperature of 420ºC to 460ºC. Using these new brazing rods, users can now join DUAL to DUAL, DUAL to Copper and Copper to DUAL. No new tools are needed, users just need to braze at a lower temperature. Strong and durable, Lawton’s DUAL has always behaved like copper. Now Lawton’s DUAL can also be joined just like copper. Oliver Lawton, Managing Director said “We wanted to make Lawton’s DUAL as easy to use as possible. We listened when people told us they wanted to braze it, and introduced the new rods so that even more people could take advantage of the cost and weight advantages.” It seems like a very clear choice – if you want to make your job easier, and save money, don’t make compromises, demand Lawton’s DUAL. |
